Prince William has removed Annabel Elliot, Queen Camilla’s sister, from the Duchy of Cornwall’s payroll. Annabel, 75, has worked as the estate’s interior designer since 2005 under King Charles III’s direction. The latest Duchy accounts show she wasn’t paid for her services in 2023-2024, ending nearly two decades of work.
William’s decision marks a shift in the Duchy’s management. The 2024 annual report states, “During the period to 8th September 2022, the Duchy paid Mrs. Annabel Elliot… £19,625 for fees and commission and £12,316 for the purchase of furniture, furnishings and retail stock.” As of March 31, 2024, there was no remaining payment due to her.
The move has sparked mixed reactions. Some netizens support William’s decision, saying, “Charles put her on the payroll… I’m glad Prince William took her off.” Others were surprised by her role, commenting, “Didn’t know she was on the payroll.”
Despite being removed from the payroll, Annabel remains active in royal projects, including recent renovations at Balmoral. Her company, Annabel Elliot Limited, has faced financial challenges, with a noted decline in assets over recent years.
