Marcus, a 19-year-old college student, worked evenings at a video game store due to his stepmother Karen’s insistence. She claimed it was to teach responsibility, but Marcus knew she wanted him out of the house. One evening, Karen confronted him about not cleaning, leading to a heated argument involving his father, Tom.
After a tough day, Marcus was told by his father and Karen that they were expecting a baby. This news quickly turned sour when Karen announced, “You need to move out,” claiming they needed space for the baby. Despite Marcus’s protests about his inability to afford rent, Karen remained firm. “You’re 19, you’re an adult now, and you need to learn to live on your own,” she said.
Desperate, Marcus contacted his Aunt Rose. Upon hearing his situation, she decided to intervene. Arriving the next day, Rose confronted Karen and Tom. She revealed that the house belonged to Marcus, per his late grandmother’s will. Rose stated, “You have no right to kick Marcus out of this house because it’s his house.”
Karen, furious, tried to dispute the will, but Rose exposed her deceit, including lying about the pregnancy. “There is no baby!” Karen confessed. Tom, betrayed, demanded Karen leave. In the end, Marcus and his father reconciled, with Tom promising, “From now on, I will always put you first.” Marcus felt a renewed sense of love and hope for the future.
