A woman, her husband and “the statue”

A woman was in bed with her lover when she heard her husband unlocking the front door. Thinking fast, she said, “Hurry! Stand in the corner and don’t move!” She quickly covered him in baby oil and talcum powder. “Pretend you’re a statue,” she whispered.
As her husband entered, he noticed the unusual figure in the corner. “What’s that?” he asked. She replied calmly, “Oh, it’s a statue. The Smiths got one, and I liked it, so I got one too.” He accepted the explanation and went to bed without another word.
Around 2 AM, the husband got up, went to the kitchen, and returned with a sandwich and a beer. He approached the “statue,” handing him the food. “Here, have this,” he said. Then, with a sigh, he muttered, “I stood like that for two days at the Smiths’ house, and nobody offered me anything!”
