On May 18, 2025, Joe Biden’s office confirmed he has been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer. The disease has spread to his bones but remains hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective treatment. Biden is currently reviewing options with his medical team.
Former President Donald Trump surprised many with his statement: “Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis. We wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.” The unusually warm tone sparked disbelief online, with users commenting, “He didn’t write that” and “There’s no way he wrote this.”
Vice President Kamala Harris shared: “Joe is a fighter… We are hopeful for a full and speedy recovery.” Barack Obama also praised Biden’s cancer advocacy and expressed confidence in his resilience.
Dr. William Dahut from the American Cancer Society noted the cancer’s severity but added, “People can live many years with the diagnosis.” Hormone therapy will likely be the next step.
As Biden prepares for treatment, national support continues to grow.
