Lorde’s comeback album Virgin, released June 27, is grabbing headlines for more than just the music. Inside the vinyl edition, fans found an unexpected image—an explicit close-up of a vagina visible through see-through plastic pants.
The bold photo, which fans believe features Lorde herself, instantly went viral. One user joked, “Just got the Virgin vinyl… I wasn’t ready for that jumpscare.” Another quipped, “Why is Lorde’s beaver all over my timeline?” The image has sparked mixed reactions and even a cheeky nickname—Lordeussy.
While some fans praised the pop star for challenging taboos and celebrating body autonomy, others were caught off guard. “My Lorde vinyl is getting delivered to my parents’ house. I’m scared,” one user shared.
Despite the backlash, Lorde’s team had included a clear warning: “Parental advisory: adult images.” The physical release features an X-ray-style 12” vinyl and a high-gloss booklet—reflecting Lorde’s trademark mix of art and provocation.
