Lorde’s upcoming album Virgin, set for release on June 27, has stunned fans—not just with music, but imagery. Early recipients of the vinyl were shocked to discover a close-up image of a vagina under clear plastic pants. “Just got the virgin vinyl… wasn’t ready for that jumpscare lmaooo,” one fan posted.
The identity of the person in the photo is unclear, but many believe it’s Lorde herself. Fans have nicknamed the image “Lordeussy,” with reactions ranging from shocked to amused. “Why is Lorde’s beaver all over my timeline?” another user asked.

While some fans were embarrassed or concerned—“My Lorde vinyl is getting delivered to my parent’s house I’m scared”—others praised the bold move. “It’s just a body,” one supporter noted. Another wrote, “Lorde putting her cooch on vinyl is iconic asf.”
Lorde’s website warns buyers of “adult images” in the packaging. She tweeted proudly: “Virgin bitches!” Whatever people think, Lorde has certainly stirred conversation before Virgin’s release.
