Craig Robinson once doubted his sister Michelle’s new boyfriend, Barack Obama. On their podcast “IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson,” he recalled, “We don’t know who this guy is… Who’s got a name like Barack?” Assuming it wouldn’t last, Craig later changed his mind after playing basketball with him. “He was a team player,” Craig said, which won him over.
Their mother’s first impression? “At least he’s tall,” she joked when seeing Barack for the first time.

Now, Michelle and Barack Obama are parents to two accomplished daughters. Malia Obama pursued storytelling in film and TV, writing for Amazon’s Swarm and winning awards for her short film The Heart. Sasha Obama graduated from USC with a sociology degree and is known for her lively spirit and resemblance to Michelle.
Michelle describes her daughters as “amazing young women,” noting how close they remain—even choosing to live together in Los Angeles. The Obamas continue to inspire as a close-knit, modern presidential family.
