A Shocking Oscar Kiss Sparked Headlines
In 2000, Angelina Jolie stunned the world by kissing her brother James Haven on the lips at the Oscars. “I am just so in love with my brother,” she said during her acceptance speech. Their bond began in childhood, surviving their parents’ divorce and their father Jon Voight’s harsh temper.
Siblings Against All Odds
Jolie and Haven stood by each other through a tough upbringing and later, their mother Marcheline Bertrand’s battle with cancer. They honored her memory at Jolie’s wedding by wearing her jewelry. Haven once joked, “Maybe I haven’t found the right woman because my sister is too picky for me.”
A Bond That Faded
After working as a nanny for Jolie and Brad Pitt’s children, Haven’s relationship with Jolie faded. By 2017, they reportedly stopped speaking. The reasons remain unclear.
James Finds Faith, Reflects on Life
Haven returned to Christianity in 2009 and pursued youth ministry. Despite the distance, he expressed no bitterness: “I still want to be there for my sister.” Jolie even named her daughter Shiloh—the name her parents had picked for Haven.
