Hey folks, I’m Victoria, and I’m still fuming! After a long trip, I returned to find my bright yellow house repainted gray. It turns out my new neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Davis, disliked the color from the start. They would constantly make snide comments, with Mr. Davis often saying, “Bright enough for you, Victoria?!”
The Davises were relentless. Mrs. Davis once told me, “That color is just an eyesore… it clashes with everything, Victoria! It’s gotta go.” Despite their complaints, I stood my ground. “There’s no law against it, Mrs. Davis. I like it yellow. It’s my late husband’s favorite color,” I told her.
While I was away for two weeks, the Davises had my house repainted gray. My neighbor, Mr. Thompson, witnessed it and told me, “They showed the police the paperwork. Apparently, the Davises claimed you hired them to repaint while you were away.” The Davises forged my name on the work order and convinced the painters.
I filed a lawsuit against the Davises. In court, the painting company’s workers testified against them. The judge ruled, “You’ve stolen her identity and damaged her property. This is not just a civil issue but a criminal one.” The Davises were found guilty of fraud and vandalism. They were ordered to repaint my house yellow and cover all costs. Outside the courthouse, Mrs. Davis hissed, “I hope you’re happy.” I smiled and replied, “I will be when my house is YELLOW again!”
