Ruta Lee’s six-decade career in Hollywood saw her shine in classics like Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Funny Face. She described herself as “a triple threat,” proud of her ability to sing, dance, and act. Despite never reaching superstardom, she said, “I’ve always managed to make a living at it.”
A 46-Year Love Story
Beyond the screen, Lee found deep fulfillment in her marriage to real estate executive Webb Lowe. “He was the finest man God could’ve sent,” she said. Their love lasted 46 years until his passing in 2020. As his health declined, Lee cared for him through dementia, calling it “one of the hardest experiences” but adding, “You really have to pray hard and call on all those great reserves of love.”

Finding Purpose in Advocacy
After Lowe’s death, Lee dedicated herself to The Thalians, focusing on veterans’ mental health. “My work on behalf of The Thalians is what I’m proudest of,” she said.
Still Glowing at 89
Now 89, Ruta Lee remains active and adored. “I still think I have somewhere else to go,” she said — living proof that passion doesn’t retire.
