CNN’s Anderson Cooper and colleagues Clarissa Ward and Jeremy Diamond had to evacuate during a live report from Tel Aviv, Israel, on June 23. A siren warning of an incoming missile forced them to leave their high-rise spot and seek shelter.
Cooper calmly explained the situation to viewers: “I can hear the sirens going off. They’re warning all hotel guests to go down.” The team kept reporting while moving to safety, showing the tense reality locals face daily.
Viewers were shaken watching the evacuation live. One fan wrote, “This is so terrifying.” Others urged the reporters to prioritize their safety, saying, “The reporting can wait. Just stay safe!”
This isn’t Cooper’s first brush with danger. Last year, he was struck by debris while covering Hurricane Milton. Despite the risks, he remains dedicated to sharing stories from crisis zones, reminding audiences to never become numb to tragedy.
Fans continue to admire his courage, but many hope he stays safe while doing what he loves.
