Chiefs Kicker Harrison Butker Who Told Women to Be Homemakers Has a Mom Who’s a Physicist

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, known for his controversial remarks on women and the LGBTQIA+ community, comes from a family with a strong academic background. Raised by Elizabeth Butker, a medical physicist at Emory University, and with a grandfather who worked in oncology, Butker’s family has deep ties to the field of science.

At the Benedictine College commencement speech, Butker stirred controversy by suggesting that women’s primary focus should be on marriage and motherhood. He described his wife, Isabelle Butker, as finding fulfillment in these roles. His remarks received backlash, especially when he compared the LGBTQIA+ community’s Pride Month to “deadly sins” and implied that men are responsible for societal order.

Despite the backlash, Butker had previously praised Taylor Swift, expressing admiration for her and his teammate Travis Kelce’s relationship. He had hoped for their marriage and family.
