At a grand military parade in Washington, D.C., Donald and Melania Trump marked his 79th birthday and the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary. Body language expert Judi James noted signs of tension in Melania, like stiff gestures and reserved smiles. However, she softened around Donald, even holding his hand briefly in a rare public display of affection.
The parade drew more protests than applause, with nationwide “No Kings” rallies criticizing Trump’s style. Judi observed Trump tried to appear casual, keeping his jacket unbuttoned and using a restrained salute. His suit and relaxed posture signaled he wanted to honor the Army without blending in as a commander.
Despite the solemn occasion, the couple shared small, light-hearted moments. Melania was caught telling Donald, “They’re good,” about the troops, and gently correcting his playful brag. They also exchanged knee touches, showing glimpses of warmth.
Their appearance follows months of speculation about Melania’s absence and rumors of a stand-in. Yet at the parade, the couple showed a mix of distance and connection, leaving onlookers guessing about the real story behind their public smiles.
