Patrick, a delivery driver, dreamed of a simple life with his girlfriend, Marianne. However, she disappeared on their wedding day, leaving him heartbroken. “If she didn’t want to marry me, I’m better off alone,” Patrick thought. His life became empty, devoid of purpose.
One day, Patrick delivered a package to an upscale neighborhood and was shocked to see Marianne. “What are you doing here?” she asked. Patrick demanded answers, but she refused, threatening to call the police. Determined, Patrick contacted her mother, Mrs. Young, who revealed the truth: Marianne had become pregnant before the wedding and sought a wealthier life for her child. She married a rich man, pretending the baby was his.
Patrick confronted Marianne’s husband, Thomas, urging him to get a DNA test. Months later, Marianne showed up at Patrick’s door, furious. “My husband threw me and our baby out!” she yelled, abandoning their son, Billy, with Patrick. Despite the shock, Patrick reassured Billy, “I’m your dad. I’ll take care of you.”
Billy eventually adapted, and Patrick found new meaning in life. He worked hard to provide for his son, never hearing from Marianne again. “Kids have a way of making life worthwhile,” Patrick realized, as he embraced his role as a father.
