Eleanor, grieving her daughter Ava’s death and separation from her husband Joseph, found hope again when she discovered a girl named Charlotte on an adoption website who looked just like Ava. Excited, she contacted Grace Adoption Services and scheduled a meeting.
Samantha from the agency reassured her, “It’s always best if we do this in person.” During their meeting, Eleanor explained her background and her desire to adopt. She hesitated about involving Joseph but felt a connection with Charlotte. Eleanor prepared her home and stayed in touch with Samantha, who encouraged her: “Being single is not necessarily a deal-breaker.”
Eleanor met Charlotte at a park, bringing coloring books as a gift. They bonded, with Charlotte revealing her life in foster care. Samantha explained the adoption process over a picnic. Eleanor and Charlotte continued to connect, and Eleanor eventually told Joseph about the adoption. He supported her, saying, “It’s good to see you so alive again.”
However, Samantha later revealed that Charlotte’s biological mother claimed Joseph was Charlotte’s father. After a paternity test confirmed he wasn’t, the adoption proceeded. Eleanor saw Charlotte’s resemblance to Ava as a second chance for her family. “I will be your mom forever,” she reassured Charlotte.
