Gene Hackman’s Funeral Plans and Family Response
Gene Hackman passed away on February 26, and his nephew, Tim Hackman, revealed that funeral plans had been made in advance. Initially, Betsy Arakawa, Gene’s wife, was supposed to handle these arrangements. Tim shared, “The preparedness of it was that he would go first, and we would probably, maybe, depending on whatever it was [Betsy] had set up, would go down there and pay our condolences.” However, with both Gene and Betsy’s unexpected deaths, the family is now uncertain about the next steps.
Unexpected Deaths and Family Communication
Tim found out about their deaths from Gene’s daughter, Leslie, who had been in close contact with them. He explained, “I mean, he was old. I’m sure he had some [health] concerns, but nothing that was shared.” Gene had kept a low profile in recent years and communicated mostly through Betsy, his primary caregiver.
Suspicion Around Betsy’s Death
The details surrounding Betsy’s death raised questions. Authorities found scattered pills near her body, sparking online speculation. While no foul play is suspected, the investigation is still ongoing.
