One morning, I bumped into Michael and his friend Jack at the daycare entrance. Jack held the hand of his little sister, Sue. Seeing Jack always made my heart skip a beat, but today, I wished I could disappear.
Later that day, during class, Jack walked in with Sue and the daycare director. “Well, look who it is! I thought you were too good to be dealing with kids, Sara.” His words stung like a slap. Determined to get back at Jack, I disguised myself as Michael and arranged to meet Jack at Sue’s birthday party.
