Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn have been Hollywood’s golden couple since Valentine’s Day 1983, though their iconic romance began as his first marriage ended.
Meeting Season Hubley
Kurt met his first wife, actress Season Hubley, on the set of Elvis in 1978. He played the King, and she portrayed Priscilla Presley. Sparks flew, and they married in 1979. Their son, Boston Russell, was born in 1980. “That’s like asking if two plumbers fell in love because they were working over the same toilet,” Kurt joked when asked about falling for Season while working together.
A Quiet Divorce
The couple kept their private life low-key. In 1983, they quietly separated, finalizing their divorce in May. Season once remarked, “We have so little in common that we can barely argue.”
Enter Goldie Hawn
Kurt reconnected with Goldie while filming Swing Shift in 1983. The timing aligned with the end of his marriage, and their relationship soon blossomed. Goldie was also recently divorced at the time.
Season’s Life Today
After retiring from acting in 1999, Season moved out of the spotlight, focusing on animal rescue in Los Angeles.
