Man Learns His Anger Issues May Be Linked to Brain Damage
After years of verbal and physical abuse, Natasha sought help from Dr. Phil to understand her husband Brenden’s uncontrollable anger. Brenden admitted his outbursts stemmed from anxiety, saying, “I’m hoping for some type of outcome for me and my family.”
A Shocking Brain Scan
Dr. Bradley Jabour, a top neuroradiologist, analyzed Brenden’s brain imaging. He explained, “This anxiety and fear that torments you triggers an anger where you will act out and maybe even hurt the people you love.” The goal was to determine whether Brenden’s brain was structurally normal or if past injuries played a role.
The Results
Back in the studio, Jabour revealed shocking findings: “We see evidence that looks like at some point, somewhere, Brenden experienced head trauma.” The scans showed “seven distinct areas of scarring,” raising concerns about undiagnosed brain damage.
Emotional Realization
Hearing this, Brenden broke down. Dr. Phil asked if the scan was abnormal, and Jabour confirmed, “Abnormal? Yes.” He urged Brenden to seek counseling to address his anger and past trauma.
