Netflix viewers are shocked by the 2015 arthouse film Love, which has gone viral on TikTok. The challenge, started by user @Laura2002m1, encouraged viewers to record their reactions to its explicit opening scene. One viewer admitted, “The opening scene left me completely stunned.”
Directed by Gaspar Noé, the film features unsimulated, explicit scenes that push streaming boundaries. Originally released in 3D at Cannes, its Netflix version remains intense. A viewer noted, “The first few minutes were more explicit than anything I expected on a mainstream platform.”
Love follows Murphy, an American in Paris, who recalls his passionate yet toxic relationship with Electra after learning she is missing. The nonlinear story explores love, jealousy, and regret.
Viewers concerned about their watch history can remove titles via Netflix’s Viewing Activity. As one user warned, “Had to immediately clear my viewing history and will never again trust TikTok recommendations without thorough research.” Love is now streaming on Netflix and Amazon Prime.
