Old Lady Discovers Daughter After DNA Test
Dorothy Weaver, a dedicated human rights attorney, felt truly lonely after losing her husband, Tom, at 57. Both had focused on their careers, often sidelining thoughts of having children. After Tom’s sudden death, Dorothy immersed herself in work until she collapsed from exhaustion.
One night, a TV show about DNA testing intrigued her. Motivated by the desire to know her origins, Dorothy sent in her DNA. The results stunned her, revealing a 49.96% match with a woman named Michelle Simpson, identified as her daughter. “My daughter?” she whispered. “I don’t have a daughter. I don’t have any children whatsoever!”
The company suggested the possibility of an identical twin. Dorothy reached out to Michelle, and they agreed to meet. At the restaurant, Michelle was shocked by Dorothy’s resemblance to her mother, Susan, who was Dorothy’s twin. “You look just like mom. Exactly, that hairstyle, the type of clothes…you even walk like her!”
Reunited, the twins discovered they shared many similarities and moved in together. Dorothy embraced her newfound family, saying, “I have no children, I have no one.” But Susan reassured her, “You have me and Michelle, and her husband and her kids… You will never be alone again!”
