Prince William’s decision to remove Annabel Elliot, Queen Camilla’s sister, from the Duchy of Cornwall’s payroll has sparked considerable discussion, both within royal circles and among the public. Annabel had served as the estate’s interior designer since 2005, under King Charles III’s direction. With William now at the helm of the Duchy, his move to end Annabel’s role marks a significant shift in the management style and priorities of the estate.
Netizens have shared mixed reactions, with some supporting William’s decision as a necessary modernization of the estate’s operations. Others view it as a move that may strain family ties, especially given Annabel’s long-standing contribution to the royal properties. The decision also reflects William’s intent to carve out his path as Duke of Cornwall, separate from his father’s legacy.
The backdrop of this decision adds another layer to the ongoing tensions within the royal family, particularly between William and Prince Harry. As William takes on more responsibilities, including his new role as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps, his leadership style and decisions will likely continue to attract scrutiny and debate.
