Princess Catherine, accompanied by Prince William and their children, made her first public appearance at the Trooping the Colour ceremony in London since announcing her battle with cancer earlier this month.
The family arrived at Buckingham Palace for the King’s Birthday Parade, a tradition since 1748. Princess Catherine, dressed elegantly, appeared composed and engaged in the ceremonial activities. Observers praised her courage and dignity during this difficult time, highlighting her commitment to royal duties and maintaining normalcy.
A day before the event, Princess Catherine shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, including a photo by Matt Porteous symbolizing her resilience. She expressed gratitude for the support, stating, “I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement.” She also discussed the challenges of chemotherapy and her cautious optimism, saying, “I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family.”
The public responded overwhelmingly positively to her post. Royal biographer Ingrid Seward emphasized the family’s focus on Catherine’s well-being, noting that Prince William’s priority remains his family amidst their health challenges. The hope is for a smoother remainder of the year for the family.
