Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens: Relationship and Public Scrutiny
Simone Biles, a 27-year-old gymnast from Spring, Texas, has achieved remarkable success in her career, earning four gold medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics and multiple accolades since. In 2022, she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom and continued to excel with her team in various competitions, including the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Jonathan Owens, a 29-year-old defensive back for the Chicago Bears, met Biles on Instagram in March 2020. They quickly bonded over their athletic careers and busy schedules. Owens shared that their relationship grew stronger as they spent all their time together during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite criticism from netizens, the couple remained supportive of each other.
In February 2022, Owens proposed to Biles, a moment she described as more valuable than a gold medal. They married in April 2023, and Owens often supports Biles at her events. Despite Owens’ controversial comment on a podcast where he called himself “the catch,” Biles defended him against online backlash, emphasizing their mutual respect and love.
Biles publicly supported Owens, stating, “Respectfully, (expletive) off” to those who disrespected her husband. She clarified that his comments were misunderstood and highlighted Owens’ kind nature. Despite the negativity, Biles and Owens continue to be each other’s biggest supporters, proving their strong bond amid public scrutiny.
