A$AP Rocky has been found not guilty in his felony assault trial after being accused of shooting at former friend Terell Ephron, known as A$AP Relli. The jury reached its verdict after nearly three hours of deliberation on February 18, 2025, in Los Angeles. “Police failed to find the gun and that became the strongest point for the defense,” said attorney Sam Bassett.
Following the verdict, Rocky sprinted toward Rihanna, embracing her in an emotional moment that quickly went viral. Social media buzzed with reactions, with one user noting, “the way Asap Rocky ran over and gave Rihanna a hug after the not guilty verdict >>>.” Others speculated about the sequence of hugs, questioning, “Who was the blonde he hugged first tho?”
The trial revolved around a 2021 dispute between Rocky and Relli. Prosecutors claimed Rocky fired a gun, grazing Relli’s hand, but no firearm was ever recovered. Rocky’s defense argued the incident was exaggerated for financial gain.
The verdict has sparked debate, but for now, Rocky is free. “Thank y’all for saving my life,” he told jurors, while Rihanna celebrated the outcome on Instagram, crediting it to God.
