Popular TikTok creator Sana Yousaf was shot and killed at her home in Islamabad on June 2, 2025, just hours after posting a joyful birthday video. The 17-year-old had over a million followers and was celebrating with friends and family before her life was cut short.
The suspect, a 22-year-old man, had reportedly stalked and harassed Sana after repeated rejections. On June 2, he waited outside her home for hours before forcing entry and shooting her twice in the chest. Sana’s mother and aunt witnessed the horrifying attack.
Police launched a nationwide manhunt and arrested the suspect within 20 hours. Authorities confirmed he tried to destroy evidence by stealing Sana’s phone, but both the weapon and device were recovered. He later confessed to the killing.
Pakistan’s Interior Minister praised the swift action by police. Sana’s final Instagram post, filled with birthday smiles and warmth, now stands as a heartbreaking reminder of a young life lost too soon. Her death has sparked renewed calls for better safety and protection of online creators.
