Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have officially changed their children’s names, and people have a lot to say about it.
Originally, the couple’s kids were named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. Archie, born in London in 2019, and Lilibet, born in the U.S. in 2021, were once tied closely to royal traditions. Lilibet’s name was a sweet tribute to Queen Elizabeth’s childhood nickname.
However, after King Charles III’s coronation, the names shifted. Now, the kids go by Archie Sussex and Lilibet Sussex. This change, part of a bigger rebranding move, was spotted on the couple’s new site, Sussex.com.
Not everyone is cheering. Critics accuse them of clinging to fame while trying to escape royal ties. Supporters, though, say Prince Harry and Meghan are protecting their children’s happiness and future.
Sources say the name change reflects the family’s desire to unify under one identity — and live life on their own terms.
The conversation around Prince Harry and Meghan Markle children’s names shows one thing: this couple isn’t afraid to break tradition and follow their own path.
