As a 33-year-old lawyer specializing in infidelity cases, I valued trust in marriage, especially in my own with Natalie. One evening, I noticed her car was missing, which was unusual. When she finally came home, I confronted her about her late nights, suspecting infidelity. She assured me she was just busy with work, but my doubts lingered.
During dinner, a suspicious message on Natalie’s phone intensified my suspicions. Despite her explanations, I couldn’t shake the feeling something was wrong. That night, I unlocked her phone and discovered messages and payments for children’s toys and hospital bills. I feared she had a child and another life I didn’t know about.
Determined to uncover the truth, I followed Natalie the next day to a run-down house. There, I saw her with a man and a little girl in a wheelchair. When Natalie spotted me, she panicked, but I managed to escape unnoticed. Back home, I confronted her again, and she confessed that the man and child were her brother and niece. However, her secret life involved much more.
I found hidden items in Natalie’s wardrobe: a gun, fake passports, and evidence of a bank robbery. Confronting her at a hotel, she admitted to the robbery to pay for her niece’s surgery. Despite her fear of prison, I promised to help her legally. However, the next morning, I woke up to find a bloody scene staged to frame me. Fleeing the police, I tracked Natalie down, threatened her brother to lure her out, and the police eventually arrested both of us. Reflecting on my actions, I realized the gravity of my mistakes and sought help from a trusted colleague.
