Protesters Target Vance Over Ukraine Stance
Vice President JD Vance and his family abruptly left a Vermont ski resort after hundreds of pro-Ukraine protesters swarmed the area on Saturday. Demonstrators lined Route 100, holding signs calling Vance a “traitor” and chanting, “Go ski in Russia.”
Backlash Over Oval Office Confrontation
The protest followed a heated White House meeting where Vance and President Trump clashed with Ukrainian President Zelensky. Vance accused Zelensky of being ungrateful for U.S. aid, saying, “I think it’s disrespectful for you to come into the Oval Office to try to litigate this in front of the American media.”
Escalating Tensions at Sugarbush Resort
Protesters, some camping near ski lifts, waved Ukrainian flags and shouted slogans. A video shared by TMZ captured someone calling Vance “Putin’s puppet.”
Vance’s Departure and Political Fallout
For safety reasons, Vance and his family moved to an undisclosed location. Vermont Governor Phil Scott urged civility, reminding residents, “The vice president is here on a family trip with his young children.” The incident underscores deepening U.S. divisions over Ukraine policy.
