Meghan Markle’s thoughtful gift to podcast host Jamie Kern Lima has caused an unexpected uproar. During The Jamie Kern Lima Show, Lima revealed Meghan sent her a basket of ice cream and homemade strawberry sauce, accompanied by a card reading, “With the compliments of HRH The Duchess of Sussex.”
Critics quickly pointed out Meghan’s use of the “HRH” title — something she and Prince Harry had agreed not to publicly use after stepping down from royal duties. One commenter wrote, “Royal title is WRONG!” while others accused Meghan of disrespecting Queen Elizabeth II’s wishes.
Palace Rules and Public Backlash
After stepping back in 2020, the Palace confirmed, “The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family.” A spokesperson recently clarified that while they retain the titles, they agreed not to use them commercially — but noted this was a personal gift.
A Life Beyond Titles
Despite the noise, Meghan offered a glimpse into her life with Harry, calling him a “great partner” who “loves me so much.” Their focus remains on family, love, and moving forward.
