Lambert’s Fiery Return
Country star Miranda Lambert performed her hit “Kerosene” on American Idol on May 4, 2025. Dressed in a bold black outfit, she delivered a powerful performance, backed by a live band and neon-lit visuals.
Mixed Online Reactions
While some praised her stage presence and appearance, others were unimpressed. Critics called her performance “boring” and said she lacked energy. One viewer joked, “She was giving us bare minimum stage presence and I love that for her 🤣.”
Carrie Underwood Replaces Katy Perry
Lambert wasn’t the only one under fire. New judge Carrie Underwood, who replaced Katy Perry, was also criticized for seeming disengaged. Fans noted her “serious” demeanor, with one asking, “Why did Carrie look so bored?”
Conclusion
Despite praise for Lambert’s look and Underwood’s talent, both women faced intense scrutiny. As American Idol evolves, not all changes are winning over viewers. But love them or not, Lambert and Underwood remain two of country music’s biggest stars—unafraid to stand in the spotlight.
